sevcom never sleeps

But it can have vague moments. News for the month of July 2008.

Because the 'WalMart of Industrial' has decided to make his downloads five bucks all the downloads here are now five bucks. Let's race to the bottom! They remain MP3's, I think if you want uncompressed get the damn CDs. Really.

Newly available as downloads:
Since The Accident 1983, City Slab Horror 1984, Co Klo Pop 1996.

Because 'the free market' has tanked, 5 bucks is basically 5 bucks everywhere, except Europe where it's 3 euros and a bit.

Your dollar at work:

All kinds of equipment here is wearing out. An external drive popped today. Embarrassingly we had a CD burner that managed to pump out a bunch of dodgy discs before catching fire and firing screws everywhere. Most discs went in the trash but some escaped which caused delays and returns. New drive needed.

WTC1 (the print server) is starting to come apart poor thing. Compaq obviously built good machines back in 2001 but now it's coughing up hairballs. I am embarrassed (again) to say that Zardoz the Quad machine refuses to work because I am too stupid to install motherboards or something. So need to send Zardoz to a shop to repair my incompetence and replace WTC1 with something from an era when USB ports were invented.

Your PayPal will be used to buy a new print server and a new burner. We currently have 6 burners in operation, 2 of which are used most.

Poor old Orbital (G3 Mac, CD burning machine) is sitting on the floor now, replaced by Hotbird, no longer needed for live shows, it gets to pump out DVDs. Not very glamorous but essential.
